Web Sites Designed for
Mobile Computing
The Mobile Web is fast becoming a
viable alternative to desktop browsing for people around the
globe. No longer tethered to their desktop PCs because of the
advent of broadband mobile communications (i.e. Wi-Fi,
EV-DO, 3G, etc.), end users expect to be able to access your
Web site from anywhere they have an Internet connection.
Acadian Media helps its clients develop a specialized
user interface or "mini" Web site designed specifically for
mobile devices such as PDAs, Smartphones and Pocket PCs.
A few of the formats we develop mini-sites in are listed
below:

What is Wi-Fi?
Wireless computing, also referred to as the 802.11 standard or
Wi-Fi (Wireless Fidelity) is a rapidly evolving type of computer
networking and telecom platform. It allows computer users full
mobility within a specified range of the transmitter or antenna.
By implementing a wireless network knowledge workers are no longer
tethered to a desktop PC, but can freely roam the premises and
stay connected to the network with a properly equipped laptop,
Tablet PC, PDA and Wi-Fi based portable telephone.
